When someone says, “The Arabs started the war, and the Jews are just defending themselves”, this article is your one-stop shop to dispel that false notion forever.
In the late 1800’s, there was a cabal of intellectuals outside Palestine who were thinking a lot about Palestine. From their study rooms in London, to their cafes in Vienna, to their conferences in Brooklyn and Baltimore, they made plans for Palestine.
More specifically, they made plans to re-engineer the ethnic composition of Palestine. They believed that Palestine was populated by the wrong ethnicity, and that the wrong ethnicity needed to be replaced by the right ethnicity.
This video is from later, in the 1930’s, but perfectly encapsulates the attitude:
“An Arab Palestine is a threat… but a Jewish Palestine is a blessing…”
Imagine if someone said “A black Mississippi is a threat, but a white Mississippi is a blessing.” Doesn’t sound very nice, does it?
Meanwhile, the people who lived in Palestine were making no such plans for the denizens of London, Vienna, Brooklyn, Baltimore, Berlin, or anywhere else. They weren’t thinking about people that far away at all.
If someone were drawing up plans to re-engineer YOUR country’s ethnic composition, you’d consider those to be plans for war.
Imagine if the People’s Republic of China were planning to change the composition of America from mostly American to mostly Chinese. You’d call that a plan for war, right? And imagine if they openly published their intention to “colonize” America.

War.
That’s a declaration of war.
Zionists declared war on Palestine on June 20th, 1899, and published their declaration in the New York Times for all the world to see. It was no secret.
From that moment onward, everyone living in Palestine had the right (and perhaps even the duty) to shoot every zionist who landed on their shores. They could have shot at the boats before they docked in Jaffa Harbor, and forced them to turn around.
But instead, they welcomed zionists. They sold land to zionists to build colonies. They even opened up their homes to zionists and gave them shelter.

And they paid for their hospitality, dearly.
